North Vietnam Multi-Activity Tour Climbing Fansipan Cruising Canoeing Halong Bay (7 days)
The 7-day tour is arranged in the northern Vietnam for small groups, active, intrepid travelers. Highlights of the tour is the 3-day climb to Mt Fansipan and two-day to Halong bay where you can enjoy both the boat trip and the canoeing tour. ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi. Overnight train to Laocai.
Upon your arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi at ???. Flight # ???, you will be greeted by Lotussia Travel guide, driver then escorted to Hanoi city center. You will be dropped off in Hanoi Old Quarter for your free walk. 19:00: Transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for overnight train to Laocai. Train ??? Departure at ??? (To be advised). Overnight on board train.
Day 2: Laocai – Sapa. Climbing Mt Fansipan (B,L,D).
Arrive Lao Cai early this morning. You will be greeted by our local team and transferred to Sapa. Breakfast will be provided in a local restaurant in town. Travel by car towards the Silver Waterfall where you can have a short walk to the waterfall (optional). Drive further to the Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam where you can see Mt Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch. After lunch, start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2900m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.
Day 3: Trekking up to the summit & trek back down (B,L,D).
After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch. After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.
Day 4: Continue trekking down. Transfer Sapa – Laocai. Overnight train to Hanoi (B,L).
You wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You trek downhill through well-protected forest and after two hours of hiking, you stop for lunch. You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Back Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, where you can have a short rest before travelling to Laocai to take overnight train back to Hanoi. Train ??? Departure at ??? Day 5: Hanoi – Halong bay (B,L,D).
Arrive in Hanoi early this morning. You will be greeted again by our team and transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast. 8:30: Enjoy the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life. Arrive in Halong and board the Bai Tho traditional sailing junk (or similar junk). Whilst cruising the exquisite waters sample the regions fresh seafood. Visit the recently discovered Surprise Grotto with its great views, and on the next island see the yawning mouth of Bo Nau Cave. Enjoy a swim in the emerald waters of Halong Bay at any spot that you wish to visit or take a kayaking trip to explore the Bay. Watch the sunset over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner. Overnight on board junk.
Day 6: Halong bay – Hanoi. Water puppet show (B).
Wake up to fresh coffee and a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Halong City. 11:00 Disembark at the dock at Halong City. Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at about 15:00. Free time for your personal discovery. In the evening, attend to the water puppet show, one of famous Vietnamese traditional art. Alternative option is to assist to a traditional music show of “Ca Tru”. Overnight in Hanoi at hotel.
Day 7: Departure (B).
Free time until transfer to Noibai airport for onward flight back home (checkout at 12:00). End tour.
