Vietnam Pu Luong Nature Reserve Trekking and Halong Bay Sea Canoeing Tour 5 days
The 5-day tour is customized by the Hanoi based tour operator Lotussia Travel for those looking outdoor, active, adventure travel. The tour includes such travel highlights as trekking through local Thai villages, jungle trek Pu Luong Nature Reserve, Halong bay boat cruise and sea canoeing tour. The best time to do this adventures is May and October. The tour is also available in winter starting from October until April. Day 1: Hanoi – Maichau - Puluong.Trekking to Hang village (L,D)
After breakfast, depart for Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. Following lunch in Poom Coong village we drive further into the reserve where we begin our trek. We trek for approximately three hours before arriving at the Thai village of Hang.
We spend the night with a local Thai family who will be our host in a traditional house on stilts. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we will discover a little more about their lives and culture.
Day 2: Trekking from Hang village to Kho Muong village (B,L,D)
Today we will walk for about six hours.
Along the way we pass through several Thai villages and hamlets before arriving at the village of Kho Muong. As the name suggests this is a Muong minority village and we will be their guests for the night.
Day 3: Trekking to Pho Doan. Travel back to Hanoi (B,L)
This morning we set out from Kho Muong and trek for roughly three hours and a half before arriving in Pho Doan townlet where your lunch will be provided in a local house.
After lunch, we will take a motorbike-taxi to La Han ferry where our car will be waiting for us for our journey back to Hanoi.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4: Travel to Halong bay. Boat cruise. Sea Canoeing (B,L,D)
Join our shuttle bus (sharing) and enjoy the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.
Arrive in Halong around noon and board the Bai Tho traditional sailing junk (or similar). Whilst cruising the exquisite waters sample the regions fresh seafood. Visit the recently discovered Surprise Grotto with its great views, and on the next island see the yawning mouth of Bo Nau Cave. Alternatively journey to Dau Go Cave and nearby see the famous stalagmites and stalactites of Thien Cung Cave. Enjoy a swim in the emerald waters of Halong Bay or take a kayak and start paddling around.
Watch the sun set over the bay whilst enjoying a delicious dinner.
Overnight on board junk.
Day 5: Return to Hanoi (B)
Wake up to fresh coffee and a wholesome breakfast before cruising back to Halong City. Disembark at the dock at Halong City at 11:00 and transfer back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
